Thanks. Could never have built it without my trusty Optivisor.

Amazing, it does not look like 1:72. How did you do the speckled metal? It looks great.

Ben - For the speckled metal, I used a toothbrush. Dabbed a very small amount of darker metallic paint on the bristles and flicked it with my finger. Did a few test runs to get the speckle size right then applied it on the model.

Thanks Skywalker. The Eduard kit helped make it easier by including the photo etched parts.

Nice model, would be a good complement to my "naked" one😉
BTW: If you click on "Manage" and activate "Advanced options" you can rotate the (some) pictures.

Thanks bugunter. I saw your naked F E.III and it is a beaut. So neatly done and clean. Very nice. Thanks for the info on how to rotate the photos. I'll be doing it soon. Relatively new to SM and there's a lot for me to learn and I'm enjoying it.

Joshua - Here are my tools of trade for building the model: Specked metal effect; see explanation above, Optivisor; got mine at micromark.com for about $40, Amazon also has them. They come with different magnification lenses. For photo etched parts, get a photo etch bending tool and a photo etch scissor for clean cuts. For the propeller; I make it easy on myself and use wood repair markers that usually come in a 5-pack. One or two passes on the propeller with 2 different colored markers is good enough to get the effect. For the rigging; I've always use "hair". Ask my sister when we were younger. I use to pull a strand when she wasn't looking. Ouch! Now I use hair from a cheap "wig" that I got my wife to buy. It should last me 3 life times of making models but it comes in handy for a lot of uses (wires, etc.). Tip on wigs; they come in various thicknesses from extra thin to thick. The thickness should match the model scale being built. For the color of the rigging, I pull the hair under a permanent silver, black or brown marker. I hope this helps! Happy modeling.

@Joshua I'm confused, there is no save button. With click on the rotated version of the picture the change is in effect immdiately. Don't use the reassign button, it can move that picture to another Album!
I made a screenshot - how to rotate a picture with 3 clicks. Scalemates is easy 👍

In the non-Advanced setting the "Save" Button is below the text widget. There you can add a description to the picture and if you are done with typing apply the text to the database with Save (or later re-edits of an existing text).
