Messerschmitt Bf 109B-1 (WIP)
Preparing the cockpit: a lot of PE, so, guess what? not all part fit into such a cramped space!!!

Interior primed with AK White Primer
Preparing the instrument panel
Using Eduard’s Bf 109E-1 as guide to mark the rivet lines
Rivets added with a Rosie The Riveter wheel
Glueing the wheel wells
Resin "thing" glued in place with Ammo Ultra Glue and filled around with acrylic putty
Cockpit painted with MRP RLM02 (MRP-50), varnished with X-22 and washed with Mig Productions’ Neutral Wash ready to close; small lever will not fit, I’ll do it when closing the left side...
Glueing right side
Fuselage closed
Fuselage closed
Glueing frontal radiator opening
The nose is made of over 9 different parts but fit is not that bad - must confess I was expecting worse

Big gap to handle here; all the rest is no major problem
Adding some height in the horizontal stabilisers
Almost ready for paint
Tail is not levelled with the wings, despite the jigs below the horizontal tail planes - I cut a little bit on the right and added some Evergreen plastic on the left
Difference between AMG (left) and Eduard (right) parts
Details added to the landing gear

White and red applied on the tail
RLM65 from MRP applied, with a wonderful finish

Thanks mate, let's see how it goes. I really wanted to build an early Bf 109. 🙂

Very nice work so far Ricardo 👍 How is the fit so far? I'm just asking because I have the D-version of this kit in my stash....and looking at your progress makes me want to start it sooner rather than later 😉

Thanks Sebastian. Well, apart from a lever that I had to glue after closing the cockpit, the fit quite good, much to my surprise 👍

Great start Ricardo. Looking super.
Heads and shoulders above the HobbyCraft kit, I've tried several times to get to go. What a disappointment.

Thanks Dave. This one isn't too bad. It's a short run kit, but the fit is good overall and the detail is very good, with a lot of resin and PE. I'm building this alongside a E-1 from Eduard and I can compare the details. A Valiant Wings book ("Bf 109 Early Series") is also on the table side, just in case. 😉

Great work Ricardo! Love the early 109s too. Made a Classic Airframes Dora recently.

Thank you Eric; I also have a Modelsvit D-1 in Condor Legion colors to do; that should round up my early Bf 109 crave! 😄

Excellent work on your 109. I have never seen an AMG kit before and they look pretty nice.

OOB build, always wanted to do an early Bf 109. The "Bf 109 Early Series" book from Valiant Wings is also a great help in consulting the details. Final photos, here: Messerschmitt Bf 109B-1 | Album by RReis (1:48)
