I decided it was time to finally model Heinrich Bartel's snappy red 13 109G-6. There are quite a few photos online and the red markings, white trim, spiral spinner and sawtooth wing camo make for an interesting scheme. Just finished the cockpit.

Thanks Sebastian and Neil. Much appreciated. The engine compartment interior and interchangeable covers are complete on the inside. The main build is also complete. Primed and started the underside.

The main painting is now complete. Mr Color paints were primarily used. I painted the spinner since I didn't think the decal was correct based on photos. I've completed the exterior of all the covers and interchangeable parts. I really like the Erla sawtooth leading edge and wing camo. Gloss and decals are next.

My rendition of Heinrich Bartels' Rot Dreizehn is now complete. All OOB except the Quickboost guns, Eduard seatbelts, and Eagle decals. Enjoy the photos and thanks for looking.

@ Jim - I've flown flight sims for going on 20+ years now, and I always gravitate to the 109 series of aircraft. They can be tricky to land, but pretty lethal in the right hands. BUT always colourful, and make for some really attractive looking paint schemes. This one is exemplary! Just awesome! 👍

I think when one builds them like this one it definitely justifies bearing a 109 avatar pic! 🙂
Great job, beautifully done model & some fancy scenery pics too 👍 Pit & details could be 32-scale and not look any better than this!

Thanks again for all the encouragement. It turns out that this model won third place in the 1/48 axis inline engine category at IPMS Nationals in Omaha last week. Thanks again.
