The kit interior with a base wood coat of paint.
![Album image #2 Album image #2](/albums/img/2/2/0/990220-58861-43-720.jpg)
For this build I tried using an acrylic paint for the wood grain. It dries a lot faster so you need to work quickly. I did a test board to practice working with the paints before I tried it on the kit.
![Album image #3 Album image #3](/albums/img/2/2/1/990221-58861-37-720.jpg)
After creating the wood grain it was sprayed with a coat of clear yellow.
![Album image #4 Album image #4](/albums/img/2/2/2/990222-58861-11-720.jpg)
The exhaust stack needs to be hollowed out. I used a Dremel with a very small bit.
![Album image #5 Album image #5](/albums/img/2/2/3/990223-58861-94-720.jpg)
The ignition lines are Infini Aero Rigging.
![Album image #6 Album image #6](/albums/img/2/2/5/990225-58861-74-720.jpg)
I drilled holes and added some brass tubing for the connections on the fuel tanks. The fuel lines were added later using a brass nut and copper wire.
![Album image #7 Album image #7](/albums/img/2/2/7/990227-58861-15-720.jpg)
The MG and PE cooling jacket were from the kit. They went together with no problems.
![Album image #8 Album image #8](/albums/img/2/2/8/990228-58861-70-720.jpg)
The interior almost completed. I used some left-over micro cloth for the seatbelts.
![Album image #9 Album image #9](/albums/img/2/2/9/990229-58861-10-720.jpg)
The fuel cell with some of the fuel lines installed.
![Album image #10 Album image #10](/albums/img/2/2/6/990226-58861-15-720.jpg)
The D.V I'm building uses the 160hp Mercedes D.III. The kit motor is really nice.
![Album image #11 Album image #11](/albums/img/2/3/0/990230-58861-37-720.jpg)
The motor installed. I added spark plugs, ignition wires, fuel lines and throttle linkages. the oil tank is to the right of the motor.
![Album image #12 Album image #12](/albums/img/2/3/1/990231-58861-38-720.jpg)
The left side of the motor with the throttle linkage.
![Album image #13 Album image #13](/albums/img/2/3/2/990232-58861-78-720.jpg)
![Album image #14 Album image #14](/albums/img/2/3/3/990233-58861-40-720.jpg)
Decaling the fuselage.
![Album image #15 Album image #15](/albums/img/2/3/5/990235-58861-32-720.jpg)
The green tape on the fuselage is holding the aileron cables in place to they can be threaded through the top wing after it is installed.
![Album image #16 Album image #16](/albums/img/2/3/4/990234-58861-64-720.jpg)
The underside of the aircraft. The parts were painted a light blue with some additional white added then the ribs were masked and a light coat of gray sprayed over the ribs. A final coat of light blue was sprayed over everything after the masking was pulled off the ribs.
![Album image #17 Album image #17](/albums/img/2/3/6/990236-58861-43-720.jpg)
The upper surfaces are painted Mauve and Light Green. I masked the ribs and sprayed a very light coat of gray/brown to highlight the ribs. The rudder is painted in a linen color.
![Album image #18 Album image #18](/albums/img/4/5/6/993456-58861-67-720.jpg)
The wings are mounted and the rigging is completed. I understand why the white metal landing gear are on the market now as this thing wobbles a lot on the plastic gear.

I will display this kit with the engine covers removed and on a wooden table next to the aircraft. It would be a shame to hide the engine.
![Album image #20 Album image #20](/albums/img/4/5/8/993458-58861-90-720.jpg)
Still need to mount the elevator, flares, prop, spinner and rear view mirror. The upper wing decals will go on after a coat of gloss and then the whole thing will get weathered and dusted with a light coat of flat.
![Album image #21 Album image #21](/albums/img/6/1/0/1007610-58861-84-720.jpg)
I wanted to leave the engine cover panels off to show the engine and oil tank. I made a small workbench to put the panels on.
![Album image #22 Album image #22](/albums/img/6/1/1/1007611-58861-42-720.jpg)
The propeller is two shades of brown, a layer of dark stain and a clear orange varnish. The spinner and dark stain hides a lot of the faults in the lamination paint job.
![Album image #23 Album image #23](/albums/img/6/1/3/1007613-58861-91-720.jpg)
![Album image #24 Album image #24](/albums/img/6/1/4/1007614-58861-37-720.jpg)
I like the contrast between the black fuselage and the white edelweiss
![Album image #25 Album image #25](/albums/img/6/1/5/1007615-58861-20-720.jpg)
![Album image #26 Album image #26](/albums/img/6/1/2/1007612-58861-40-720.jpg)
Finally completed. It was a fun build and didn't take too long.

The Wingnut Albies are certainly not the easiest to pack together but you are doing it justice the awesome way. Congratulations

Thanks all for the generous comments. I wish I had bought a couple more of the WW kits before they folded. They fit together nicely and the decals are excellent.
