The big bottom "scoop" is also seen on Oscar II class submarines (by the looks of it), and is found on both sides. Oscar II has four of them under the water line.
No idea what they are. More mysterious I think, are the stuff sticking up from the deck just before the sail. Presumably not dynamos. 🙂
Perhaps my favourite submarine. Whole thing sort of looks like a torpedo.

The scoop is the water intake for the reactor cooling system.
And that thing on the deck (there are 2 more on the sides below) is the wake water analyser. It smells for the fuel and lube remnants in the enemy's wake
