Coastal Command Liberator Mk.V
Decided to start on this inspired by Johan’s recent build. Not sure what the age is of the kit but certainly the oldest I think I’ve done so far.
eBay purchase and so not surprising when the box opened. Plastic looks very brittle, most of the pieces off the sprue. Especially looking forward to the joy of the props that have shed all their blades.
Dry fit the fuselage and the wings. Boy oh boy it’s a biggie. We’re going to need a bigger spray booth. 😄
The Aires Quickboost props and tool are a joy.
Old plastic + vigorous sanding of flash = aargh!

I have this one these still in the stash with AM stuff. Built a many of these (and its green plastic brother) in my youth in the late '60' early '70's. No paint but the wheels moved, the landing gear moved. The turrets rotatated, props spun (in the wind mind you) and the guns and flaps moved up/down. Spent many a hour running around the back yard depth charging dog poop. (it was a fail if you stepped in it). I will be watching to see how yours goes together. Cheers.

Thanks Robbie. I can see it was advanced for its day. I'll try and stay true to the childhood memories, but have some mods to add. Chin ASV, rockets, and Leigh Light so going a bit further to embellish the old girl.

Welcome aboard Gordon and Lukasz, as it's a Liberator there room enough for all 😄 Thanks all for your interest and likes. Mainly I'm using this as a test bed for my own MkIII Sunderland so getting into the Coastal Command colours and markings, weathering etc. is the focus. 👍

@Robbie I realise why the kit comes in this horrific blue now. The instructions only ask you to paint the parts that are not US Navy Blue, I guess it's the same on the Air Force one in drab green,
