I'd always wanted to do a non-metal; non-USAF machine and the Danish machine fit the bill. The tip tanks certainly make it standout out on the table. The Hi-decals sheet does provide the black decal that overlays the green however I chose to make a mask and paint it. I think it came out pretty well.

Painting was the way to go. Decals on those complex curves don't always work out. I have a couple of these Tamiya kits in the stash and I plan on building one as an USAF Thunderbird. Those Tamiya decals look dodgy and I may try spraying some of the markings. I have been looking for aftermarket decals with no luck.

@John G, I did use the Tamiya stencils on the kit and the instrument panel has the instrument decal as an overlay. Lashings of Mr Mark Softer et al makes it look fantastic. Finish it off with gloss glaze or similar for the glass instrument faces. They worked quite well.
