HMAS Vampire Build Progress
decided to build, prime and paint by sub-assembly this time, as there are nooks and crannies that will be hard to reach after full assembly
I've only used the railings from the PE set so far.
adding the ships boats
decals next I think
decals added, next weathering and a base
after weathering and adding some rigging
a watery base. some fine touchups still to do
made the base directly on an acrylic display case (clear cover not in place here to avoid reflections)
I think I'm calling this done for the time being. there's always more fiddling around to be done, but this was an enjoyable build so far

Thanks Rui, Jonn, Spanjaard. I'm liking this world of 1:700 waterline ships, although that PE sheet was pretty daunting - I only used a fraction of it, as most was either n/a for the vessel, or didn't seem to add enough to make it worth the effort! Would like to eventually work my way up to the big guns of Force Z - HMS Repulse and HMS Prince of Wales.

Nice job on a tiny gem - and agree with Spanjaard, the base is a highlight 👍
