In order to assemble the Hamilton propellers with a consistent pitch in all blades, I've built a small jig out of plastic card and brass rod.
Cheers

Ah, yes I remember the bizarre arrestor hook solution for this kit. Otherwise, I had a fun time building mine. 🙂

Tip: I put some black cardboard paper inside the engines to block the visibility into them.
I also added sprue goo inside the air intakes for the two engines, and then I drilled out the holes.

Thank you for the tips Tree hugger! I just painted the inside of the engines black and milled/filed the intakes/exhausts to improve their look. Indeed the arrestor hook is puzzling!

The resin propeller hubs are a bit to wide for the engine gondolas and though I tried to reduce their diameter, because their axle is a bit off center, it was not possible to achieve it easily. So I decided to turn my own parts out of brass rod.

Can you recommend your mini lathe machine? 🙂 Presumably, it is a mini version, but I don't know your model.

Thank you for your kind comments. My mini-lathe is a Proxxon FD150e and it is the simplest of lathes (it just has a cross slide and a compound , so although it has 150mm between centers, you are limited to the length of the compound for the length of your parts. If I was sure that I could get spare parts for one of the many Chinese 7 inch mini-lathes, I would get one of those instead (the Proxxon pd250 was already outside my budget). So far I am happy with it (even with its limitations). For a complete novice like me, it is a great learning tool.

Decals applied (almost at least, I still miss the propeller ones). After painting a few more details, some subtle weathering will be added to complete this build.

Nice work on masking the nose anti glare field in black, goes to show it pays off being attentive and careful. 🙂
