Interesting with that extra cargo door up front. Never got to get this kit myself, always too expensive. 🙂

Very impressive results. The acres of pre-shading were worth the effort 🙂

Thank you Gentlemen. Much appreciated.
Treehugger, Not sure on the cost in Norway but in the UK you can get this version of the Transall for a little over £30 on line and E bay.
Bruce Huxtable, all post shading my friend 😉. I applied the base colour then different shades and colours over the top. The rear end i masked up to create the lines then after removing the tape i 'fuzzed up' the lines to soften the effect. This was done having noticed the dressed look on the rear of the aircraft on the pictures of the real thing.

All post-shading? That's some pretty nice results. 👍
I didn't try post-shading yet as I always fear screwing up my somewhat acceptable paintjobs.
Do you work with heavily thinned paints for post-shading?

Łukasz Gliński and WhiteGlint Thank you.
WhiteGlint Yes thin the paint and lower the air pressure and then you can get closer to the model. I used Hataka lacquers for my base colours then Tamiya colours to shift the colours to lighter or darker. I used Mr Hobby Levelling thinners through out. I just struggle with true acrylics to achieve the same results. So it is just practice and finding the right products that work for you. Try out on a 'buster' if you have one.
I'm sure you will make it work for you. 🙂

Thanks Gary.
Yeah, I have some abandoned projects I can try some stuff on.
Maybe I should just do some experimentation every now and then instead of starting new projects...

You have a good eye and a steady hand, Gary 😉 Many thanks for sharing your techniques, and these great results. I'm really enjoying the subtle variations, as well as the sharp lines, etc.

Thank you very much guys. 🙂
Bruce, i like to do my research look at pictures of the real thing. These things can really look beaten up. The modern French ones more so due to being grey.
I would recommend this kit. Nice to have something a little different on the shelve.

Neuling and Neil. Thank you for very kind comments.
Neil...Yep it's a BIGGY.... A really nice kit from Revell....You get a lot of plastic for your money. Just some careful clean up required and lots of test fitting.

Thank you Fritz. With time and experience we all improve. My early airbrushing was horrible with rough paint, runs and not very nice. Joining Flory models in 2008 helped me, i was asking questions and watching Phil and learning with each build. Im sure you do great work. Most importantly enjoy the hobby. All the best to you.

That is a magnificent aircraft and a beautiful model! I like the paintjob on this one, nice post-fading effect.
