So, Kovozavody's kit is based on old Smer kit?

To Robert:
More precisely, it contains the original Směr kit supplemented by a few new parts and new decals. I gave a more detailed description at the beginning of the album and to the individual photos.

Robert, you don't have to apologize. The mistake is on my side. I added the text with a description of the kit and a description of the photos later 🙂

Album info

This kit from KP Prostějov is marked as a novelty for 2021. But whoever was expecting a new model will be disappointed. This novelty is entirely in the spirit of KP practices. In a relatively large cardboard box you will find (in two trees) complete parts from the old well-known Avia BH.11 kit. This kit was manufactured in the 70's by Smer. In the 1990s, Smer released a rebox in a new box containing the original parts without any modifications. And now the same parts have appeared in this "novelty" from KP. One new Tree with modified fuselage halves, new parts for cockpit equipment and new main landing gear wheels is added to the parts of the original BH.11 kit. In my opinion, the best part of the kit are decals. On one decal sheet are Czechoslovak national emblems in two versions - older flag emblems and newer round emblems. The second decal sheet has civilian registration marks, small labels and serial numbers, dashboard instruments and seat belts. Printing decals is good, how they will behave when applied I do not know, I did not have time to try it. Of course, there are instructions for building a model. The instructions make a cheap impression, but they are clear. Thanks to the simple shapes of the original, the kit is simple and contains a small number of parts. Despite the fact that it needs some adjustments, it is possible to build a handsome model in the final.

Although the original manufacturer Smer and now also KP show a 1:48 scale on their boxes, the model is actually made in a 1:50 scale.
