303 Squadron Spitfire
Fuselage and wings attached, only small amount of filler used for some minor gaps, Eduard continues to produce great kits with awesome fit and detail
Almost ready for priming
First stages of painting.
Painted the Sky stripe, the yellow edge of the wings and added the spinner, antenna and landing gear. Ready for a first coat of varnish.
Finished with the decals, thick film carrier which never happened to me with an Eduard kit. Next step, working on the panel lines and weathering.
After i finished with the decals, i gave the model a coat of clear varnish and left it to dry for a day and a half. Then i started to work on the panel lines, and that coat started to peel off. I removed that coat the best i could, replaced a few stencils that were gone after that, and tried to finish the model the best i could.
I call this project finished, not the best of the results, but had a lot of fun with it, which is the final goal, to enjoy this hobby. Hope you like it.

How did I miss this. Zumbach is the GOAT! Albeit a very shady character by the end (but a great modelling inspiration). Following along now. 👍

Thanks Gary. In fact the kit comes with plenty of nice options, each one of them in my opinion is worth building. Since it´s a dual combo edition my next build will be another Spitfire.

Thanks WhiteGlint, i think i could have done better if it wasn´t for that problem with the varnish coat, but it was a fun build and im happy with the result.

303 SQ good choice, like the mad duck! What varnish did you use? First time you used this varnish?

I use Acrylic clear varnish from Vallejo, as i always do, and its the first time such thing happens to me. Really cant explain what happened, but as soon as i started working with the panel liners, that layer peeled off.
