HMS Revenge departing Faslane

Album image #1
After building and priming the sub, I attacked a block of high-density foam with a DIY foam cutter to settle the sub in the water.

Album image #2
Used the standard foil, paper and mod-podge technique for creating the sea surface and wake

Album image #3
Masked the sub for completing the water in-situ

Album image #4
I built up the water with layers of gloss mod-podge and airbrushed colouring

Album image #5
Wake was built up with cotton wool, touched up with Vallejo Model Color white.
Wash and wave tops are highlited with some Deluxe Scenic Snow

Thanks for the comments Robert, andrew, Jan, Simon. There's no greater compliment than when a sea-scape momentarily gives the illusion of reality. I think I just build ships these days as an excuse to model some more water😉
