Making an attempt at the new tool kit from Revell. Lovely stuff so far. Fit and details seem to be great.

Got a good amount of the interior finished. Engine, transmission, front and rear suspension and exhaust installed. All detail decals under the engine bay and in the interior placed. Getting pretty close to being able to close it up. Body is still in the paint shop so work will cease momentarily.

And we got some paint laid down. 60s Jag means classic green to me. At least for this build. It's such a nice kit I'd happily build it again.

Body is back from paint. Interior is finished up and it's on 4 wheels. Hit the wires with a black wash to give them some depth. Have to install the knock offs still and get the body on and glass in. Getting close to the end of this build now.

Indeed Jv. I like to keep a couple irons in the fire at one time. That way I can switch through builds if I need to let something dry or if I get burnt out or I'm doing tedious stuff that maybe isn't the most enjoyable to me. I usually have 3-5 in some sort of built stage. This jag has been holding my attention recently. The new tool builds up nicely.

And thay had also a few other kits in the shop at very good prices
Like the airfix 1_12 Bentley blower
And I like to also get the fujimi 1/12 skylines
There is 4 of them but thay are all a bit costly
So cos I'm poor right now I just got the tamiya 1/24calsonic
Yesterday it was a very good price so it made it into my stash lol

1/20 scale is as large as I've gone so far.I do have the amt ford thunderbird in 1/16 in my stash. That Gullwing kit looks really cool. And the blower Bentley is one of my favorite cars. I'd love to tackle that big kit. That Calsonic is cool too. I'd also like to make an attempt at one of Tamiya's 1/12 scale F1 cars at some point too.

I found the engine quite detailed. Is it out of the box ? If so, looks very interesting

Indeed Stéphane. 100% out of the box. The decal sheet is most impressive and I agree about the engine. Great detail. It even has Jaguar 3.8 "cast" into the side of the block. An especially nice touch I thought. I considered doing some extra detailing to it because it's so nice, but ultimately decided against it because simply because it isn't something I'm looking to put a lot of time into.

If you look at my latest photos you'll see a fun little decal they threw in. The owners manual! I love it. So I cut a rectangle of styrene card to give it a little depth and slid the decal onto that. Then carelessly tossed it into the passenger seat.

Can't blame you there my friend. I have yet to even see it in person. None of my not so local hobby shops have had it. Suppose I'll have to order it off the interwebs if I want to build it one day.

Yes 120 US is a pretty good price from what I've seen. Another of my modeling friends built it and did a beautiful job on it. Can build up into an exceptionally nice piece.

The tooling was 2020
So still not old
But this kit is not new tooling
And its the same kit
There was a kit new parts but that was because it's a convertible

Hey Bozzer. I never built the old xke kit. Just have heard good things about this new tool kit since it's release so I thought I'd wack it together. I do have the 2020 boxing, that's new tool to me. It's a true modern tooling that is very user friendly but I don't know how the old kit was so I cannot compare. Had zero flash and fit has been excellent. The only thing I've managed to ruin so far is the front glass. Was not being careful enough while it was drying and knocked it out. When I went to put it back in I didn't realize I must have spilled a drop of glue on it and managed to fingerprint it like it was my first kit ever 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️. Ah well, I continue to and will always be my own worst enemy. I'd recommend this kit to anyone though.

Lads, gents, if you check out my stash, you'll see my xke. I have a cunning plan for it 🙂 But, I was curious about this new release, to see if there was any difference, apart from it being amazing?
@Kyle. The colour is awesome! True British BRG 🙂

Didn't feel right painting it any other color Bozzer!the new kit has a beautiful engine and is very finely molded. The front tilt hood seems to work well and fit tightly. It's very finely molded but the wires are still solid. Going to give them a heavy wash. I looked up the old xke kit like your and I have to say, parts wise it looks relatively similar. Hard to see well on some online auction photos though. Looks like it has everything you could need to build a lovely E type though. Or whatever your cunning plan is. Lol. I hope to see it come together sometime.

Nearing the end now. After my debacle with the glass I had to take a step back from this one for a minute. Just to clear the head. Oh, and I also had to go to work. Always getting in the way of the hobby. Anyway just some finishing touches of glazing, chrome bits, some decals. Very close to the finish line.

Finally polished this thing off and got some pictures of it! Fun build other than my own issues with the front glass. My own fault. Happens. Not terrible concerned about it myself. The E type is such a beautiful car I'm happy to add it to the shelf.

Those Mack AC's are the old Monogram kits. In fairness mate, they're good kits. I decided to collect all 4 of the variants. I've built the tanker, and I'm into the stake truck now. I actually saw the real thing, at the Mack Museum. Crazy contraption, but they got the job done! Hope you enjoy building yours.

I have heard nothing but great things about the old Monogram kits which is why I picked the Atlantis re-release up. Would be cool if they released all the variants but otherwise maybe I'll find the old monogram kits on the old internet.

Lol mate! If you get stuck, I might have a couple spare? I plan on doing a few variations of the same kit, so I picked up a few others over here? If I can get the Atlantis kit cheap, here, then I'm good with the originals. From memory, I've definitely got a sealed tanker and the tipper? I'd definitely have to check that though? I'd rather build than collect, but I do have my favourites. My Sealed Can Do wrecker, is protected by the SAS, and James Bond 😉

And my favourite of what I got was 1/12 fugimi skyline gtr

Bozzer, fortunately the Atlantis kit is pretty affordable over here. That's why I'm really hoping they release some different variants. Quite a bit cheaper than what they tend to go for on eBay. Can do wrecker kit you say? Even Mr. Bond will have trouble keeping that one safe!! I'm 100% a builder. I collect just to build. I'm sure eventually I'll die with many unbuilt kits but it won't be through lack of trying. 😂😂😂

I feel your pain Kyle. I live in a large city, and there's no model shops! We have hobby lobby type stores, but the range is limited to wingy things and armour. The entire UK is struggling for decent Model Shops now. The few that remain, do seem to be flourishing though. Believe it or not, even London has no model shops now? Literally everything is online these days

Prices were very good
The only thing that keept me from ordering
Was freight cost and waiting time to get it
I like to go get it now not waiting for months
So sometimes I pay a few dollars more but get to take it home now
