Fujimi enthusiast kit. Purchased from good old eBay for a pretty good price due to the body shell having a broken window frame. So first step is fixing that. Easy enough. More photos to come

Their Ferrari 126 CK has much the same problem, just above the headrest area.

I know that's true. I broke mine while fitting the bodywork to the chassis. 😂🤦🏻♂️

The V12 is exquisite in this kit. Well done 1988 Fujimi. I can see why they include an engine stand if you wanted to display the engine by itself.

The dreaded W word has kept me somewhat away from my workbench. Along with a few days of being sick. Nothing serious, just a cold but enough to kill any motivation. I have gotten back after it a bit this weekend, however. Beautiful V12, painted, wired and test fitted into the chassis subassembly. I've just gotten a start on that. Not a whole lot of progress but I'm happy with how it's going so far.

Fine looking engine, the Daytona was the first Ferrari built after Fiat ownership, but none the less a great looking car.

Thank you everyone!!
George, I've always loved the Daytona and the special Pininfarina body on this one is really lovely.

Fun aspect of these enthusiast models is the engine stand they provide. In case you wanted to display their truly excellent engines outside of the car. I'd love to do that but display space prohibits that. So I knocked the engine stand together to at least photograph the engine. The kit progresses along but nothing else photoworthy yet.

Driveline installed into chassis. Also front suspension completed and installed onto chassis. This is a nice kit so far. Excellent detail and nice fit.

So the interior tub and chassis components are mated and we have what resembles the beginnings of a car. This is a beauty of a kit stuffed with detail. Very much enjoying it. They also provide two gorgeous wheel choices. The classic 5 spoke Daytona wheel and probably the prettiest set of plastic wires I have every seen. Comprised of 3 pieces to get the complete wire wheel look. I am torn on which direction to go.

Thank you Ben! I'm enjoying this one more than my last Fujimi kit, which had some brittle plastic I fought with. This one has been really nice to work with so far!

A lovely included decal for the dash face and gauges. Some quick wood grain on the steering wheel and the interior is all done. Basically the entire chassis and tub are done now. The body is in primer and maybe final paint tomorrow. Getting there.

And we're finished for now until I get the body in paint. Subpar weather has kept me out of the paint booth so I'm behind there but muddling through what I can until I can get some stuff painted.

Looks great. best wishes for your trip to the paint booth; always gives me pause. let us know if the body fits well. they tend to be a pain and i usually mess something up by being impatient !

You and me both Ben. Finishing and final paint is always where I trip myself up. Don't be surprised if this stays in this state for awhile as I send the body into the purple pool. 😂. Plan to make my first attempt today.

Aaaah, the (in)famous Fujimi Enthusiast kits. Still on my to do list as well. I know they are insanely detailed, some say even over-engineered. But how`s the fit?

Fiddly in places, Alexander. But in other places it falls together without any effort at all. A real exercise in patience in other spots. Gorgeously detailed for sure. My main concern is will the body fit over the chassis without shattering the rest of the model? I also have a 911 Testors reboxnof an Enthusiast kit and the Dino 246gt enthusiast kit so I'm just scratching the surface of them here. Didn't know what I was getting into! Lol.I will add, A person like yourself could do some truly incredible work with the base they give you on these.

I've been eying the 911 Carrera RS 3.0 for some time now. Or the Alpina B7. One of these two will probably be my first

I love the Alpina. Those shark nose BMWs look great. And the 911 is classic. Mine is the 85 911 turbo. The Carrera is prettier. Look forward to seeing whichever once you get into. Or both!

I have completed this. Really a nice kit. A bit fiddly here and there, which has matched my experience with Fujimi. As this was a one off version of the Daytona, I have endeavored to somewhat match the 1:1 car. The unique Pininfarina body included a canvas section at the rear window section behind the aluminum bar which could be opened. I replicated this with some Tamiya tape around the edge of the window frame then painted white. The kit is more designed around the newer style Daytonas with hidden headlights. To use the original style full width glass headlight cover you must do some trimming and cutting. Instructions were rather vague in this regard and I think I cut out. A bit too much but I also believe it is mostly looking the part. The engine and chassis detail was gorgeous in this kit, and a better modeler than me could certainly build a truly gorgeous example. I can't wait to build another from Fujimi's Enthusiast line.

Thank you Jv! It's a really cool kit. The enthusiast line has full engines with stands if you want to display them out of the car and if they're all anything like this one they all have great detail. I have 2 more in stash but would like to get more.

JV, I'm in the pub every Friday, after work. Being as today is the day before Good Friday, it's officially the last day of work, until Tuesday. Therefore, I'm in the pub! Feel free to drop by for a pint, or 19??? 🙂

Work is over for me. Now I have 3 days off as well. Not sure how much I can dedicate to the cave but I'll try to get in there at some point.
Also, thank you István!!

Thanks Ben! That'll be gorgeous in spyder form! My only recommendation is that fit everything 748 times before gluing. It is a Fujimi kit after all. And of course the body going on over everything is always the stuff of nightmares. Get a photo album going and I'll hop over to watch!!

In my first response that's supposed to read "test fit" but I'm guessing you figured that out. 🤦🏻♂️😂 I'll keep an eye out for the album.

Well done Kyle, great Job!
I also have some of those fujimi enthusiast Kits in my stash. I am lurking around the 288 GTO now for a while... it really wants to be build... but it kind of scares me...

Thanks Dennis!! If you get into one of these kits just test fit everything 47 times before you glue it! LOL. That's the best advice I can give for these. They're maybe a bit overengineered but build up great.
