Machine version Mk. IIb, serial number Z3660 with Merlin XX engine, was produced by Hawker Aircraft Ltd, within the 5th production block of contract No.62305/39 produced in the period from 14.1.1941 to 28.6.1941 and specifically in the block of 50 machines serial numbers Z3642-Z3691.
As part of the rearmament to Hurricane version Mk.IIb, 312th were delivered. Sq, based at Kenley airfield at the time. Here it received the codename DUoV and became the personal machine of the unit commander, Sq/Ldr Alois Vasatek. He achieved a probable kill of a Bf 109F with it on 9 July 1941 and another machine of the same type was credited to him as damaged.
