1A-USAF Service: 4th Infantry Division (1992-94)
My first active duty assignment in the US Air Force was with Detachment 58 of the 1st Weather Group. We provided weather support to the US Army 4th Infantry Division (Mechanized) at Fort Carson, Colorado. This collection covers the wide range of weaponry used by 4ID during my assignment.
AVIATION OPERATIONS:
My primary job was to provide aviation weather support to 4th Aviation. They flew a variety of helicopters out of Butts Army Airfield located just south of Fort Carson. I supported 4th Aviation during field operations, particularly the Piñon Canyon Maneuver Site in Southern Colorado.
