This is my project that encompasses all of the Spitfires I plan to build; Everything from World War II, to the Middle East, to Indochina & even Korea!
I could've easily have built 10 Mk.IX Spitfires but 30 total was already insane enough.
The Italeri kits will make use of the Brengun Spitfire Mk.IXC, intended for the Airfix Mk.IXc, to flesh out their interiors. My Mk.Vb is too far along to accept most of the parts. The Italeri Mk.IX will receive the markings of one of Brengun's "Beer Spitfire Mk.IXs."
As the Sword PR.IV coming back into production is questionable I opted to aim to convert Airfix's Spitfire Mk.Vc to a PR.IV using the Blackbird Models conversion set since it includes a tropical filter. The two molds SHOULD be reasonably close. Thankfully I was able to find PR.IV decals from a sheet also from Blackbird which included some for an aircraft based in Gibraltar, which was active during Operation Torch.
