The Beriev Be-6 (NATO reporting name "Madge") was a flying boat produced by the Soviet Beriev OKB. It was capable of accomplishing a wide variety of missions, such as long-range maritime reconnaissance, coastal and supply line patrols, torpedo/bombing strikes, mine-laying, and transport operations. The aircraft went through 19 variants through its production cycle, and 123 aircraft were eventually built. The Be-6 stayed in service until the late 1960's with some aircraft ending up as unarmed civilian transports in Arctic regions.
Although this kit was released by Revell, it is clearly a re-issue of an Eastern European kit (VEB). The parts fit was rough, the clear parts all had punch outs (which is why mine are colored) and there are numerous inaccuracies to the kit (Engine exhausts should be located on the top of the engine nacelles not the side, more antennas needed). I realized too late in the process to make any changes. The kit supplied decals fell apart and were unusable. I used scrap decals to mark the model. This is not a kit I would recommend.

Thanks for this info I got all excited thinking this maybe a cheaper re-boxing of the Tru,peter kit.
Paul, nevertheless you have got my full respect. I triyed to build the original VEB kit in the 80s...and I gave up. You have done good job.
Nice OOB build. Respect for those 40hrs and for refraining from correcting the kit (then it would take 40 months, not hrs) 🙂
