This is interesting subject. Have I infected you 🙂 I wonder how you are going to translate the colors" old leaves, young leaves." I follow your progress.

It's indeed all your fault Martien😄! The "Jongblad and Oudblad" choice will be a hard one. Since it's a fierce discussion on the Dutch forums... I have the White ensign colors in the stash but they are not spot on if I have to believe the "experts". But I believe there is not a person alive today who can tell with absolute certainty in what colors the Hawks were painted, maybe they had the standard USAAF camouflage colors? Or a combination of both Dutch and US colors? And i think also it could differ between each unique Hawk in the inventory. We will never know.. But, I will do my best to slightly get it correct off course👍.
What makes me more concerned is the shape and length of the cowling. The kit parts are nor round enough and are of the type for the USAAF P-36A with the 14 cylinder engine and not the more powerful 9 cylinder engine the export versions had. You can see here in this outstanding build review on Aeroscale what I mean: aeroscale.kitmaker.n..=view&artid=4723
I can live with small shape issues but that cowling is just not good enough for such a upgraded Hobbycraft kit 🙂
