Finally finished this long-running project! Was held up by customizing the ends of the exhaust with some brass rod, the pieces from the kit looked super mis-aligned. And then i tried out some chrome alclad 2 for the first time and I’m pretty happy with it! The kit is MPC’s 36 Modified Wild One, a 1936 Chevrolet Master hod rod. I tried a new-to-me technique i really like on most of the metallic surfaces including the body, spraying tinted clear coat over a metallic base. Gave it a lot more depth and shine than the orange metallic paint i used on my porsche, IMO. I didn't prime it, and I ran into some trouble because of that near the end where I couldn't get super glue paint-on-paint connections to hold, they kept tearing the paint right off the plastic. Lesson learned!
