Started this kit for our local group summer modeling challenge. Didn't quite complete it in time, due to procrastination and problems with the aged Monogram kit decals falling off the kit. So I purchased the LPS decals, to keep the depiction identical.

Used some old stock Model Master buffing metalizer product for the body. It was prone to easy removal and didn't handle additional tape, even with a gloss clear varnish. I guess my applications of gloss clear are far too fine.

Eventually I returned to this kit, and submitted it for my first ever local participation in an IPMS model show.

The front canopy didn't fit well onto the fuselage, so I needed to do some last minute filling and repainting. That was a pain in the ass!

The LPS decals are quite fine. They were a little brittle for my rough handling. I'd recommend waiting to add MicroSol until after they are located in place, as opposed to pre-washing the area.

Didn't weather it this time. Mostly due to running out of free time.

The fuselage also required quite a bit of fiddling prior to gluing plus filler afterwards to mate each of the pieces.

Another entry at the local show featured the same kit with an aftermarket interior set (from a P-40 probably), Rasmussen's decals, plus proper wiring of the antenna. It was nice.
