I started this kit on 02/18/23, as it is expected with all AMT kits, all the parts have moulding and flashing and some of the parts are warped. I would really like to build the semi but AMT sure makes it very hard to assemble the pieces. The engine has been built and its ready for priming and paint. I'm currently working on the chassis.

I've said it once and I'll say it again, I really don't like AMT kits, the instructions are hard to understand, the fitment of the parts is not very good, all the parts always have flashing. For example, on this kit some of parts have so much flashing that I think the molds did not align when the kit was made.

New updates, the basic chassis, front suspension, and rear suspension are done, in other words the entire chassis has been finished. The chassis is ready for priming and painting. I need to create the painting lists in order to identify which parts require which paints. I've also identified the paint that is a duplicate of the Coca Cola red paint, I could either purchase it from Zero Paints or Gravity Colors, I'm thinking I'll order it from Gravity Colors due to the price difference. It's not so much the price of the product but of the shipping, Zero Paints's shipping is almost forty dollars compared to Gravity Color's twelve dollars.

I'll continue making this kit just because I've always wanted to make an 18 wheeler, but again I hate AMT kits.

Slow but steady progress on the kit, fuel tanks are done and have started on the body. The reason that it is taking so long is because of the amount of sanding that have to do, like I said the is so much flashing that it is taking me a long time to file the parts to a smooth finish.

What I am doing right now is to glue all those pieces that make up one piece that will be painted the same color so I can begin with the priming stage. I just remembered, I need to put all the chrome pieces in bleach to strip away the chrome plating. Need to identify which supplies I need to order.

Laundry List - here is the list as of today of the things that are pending to do,

1. Remove all flashing from the parts.
2. Glue all the parts that can be painted in the same color.
3. Need to figure out which color I will be painting the engine.
4. Look into metalizer paints.
5. Purchase the Coca Cola Classic color, primer, and clear system from Gravity Colors.
6. Prime all the body parts.
7. Putty all seamson parts that require it.
8. Strip all chrome paint from parts.
9. Rechrome all stripped body parts.
10. Scribe all body parts.
11. Purcahse new stock of various inventory.
12. Prime the body and body parts.
13. Paint the body and body parts.
14. Clear the body and body parts.
15. Apply any necessary decals.
16. Detail the interior.

I've decided to step away from this project for a little bit, I just got frustrated with all the cleaning I had to do on the parts. The flashing is just too much, and on top of that I still need to fill all the seams on the parts, and that is another big task. I need to take some time off to cool off for a while or it will come to point where I am going to hate this kit and not finish it.
