A builds of firsts, my first Helicopter and first use of 3D decals. Turns out the kit was originally a HobbyBoss kit and looks great nice details and combination of fine panel lines and rivets where need, I have high hopes for this build. 🤞

Cheers #Villiers, the 3d decals are fantastic and really elevate the tubs to a new level.
First real issue with the kit is the fit of the main body, it does not want to join easily and I can find a cause but most can be fixed by gluing a small section at a time and working down the body.
However the bottom section is far too narrow for the kit bottom part, creating large hangovers. This may suggest the bandy has a warp in it but this is modelling not assembly.
I've added a stretcher of sprue to force the side apart hopefully this will help and not cause more issues later.

Another sort of issue although a little troublesome rather than true issue.
The instruction contain a couple of templates for both inner and outer glass masks (a great idea I wish more kits had). However they are way under scale, I resorted to old skool and used Tamiya tape and fresh blade with bright light behind (phone light 😁) and cut my own.
While right this it occurs to me they may be 1/72 scale and were not rescaled to 1/48 will check later.

Great spot #Jens J it is indeed Special Hobby plastic, my apologies to both Special Hobby and HobbyBoss for the confusion.
Just completed a HobbyBoss and had them on my mind, this would be an excuse if the sprues where not so well labeled and on the Quinta 3D decals 🤪

Astonishing detail painting in the cockpit and gear well. Are you sure this is 1:72 scale? 😉

You tend to do big projects with many parts, right? That means a fine detailed model 👍 Impressive!
Are the electronic components and cabling part of this kit series?

Hi Bughunter, all part of the de-Agostini subscription based kit - I'm not adding anything extra unless I absolutely have to, this thing is SO BIG, and so HEAVY!!! I think my glass shelves may struggle holding this!!
Big Projects?? I seem to turn them into BIG projects....

Interesting to see how one of these "subscription-based" kits go together.
Not the standard construction process by any means.
Disappointed at the quality of the pre-assembled parts, especially those that were chromes (there was little or no pre-chrome clean-up, and the after chrome patching was quite inferior) Not what you should expect form a high-cost model!! So some reworking required there.
Final product looks pretty good & final assembly was better than I expected.
By the way, the completed car weighs in at just over 8kg - so you will need to consider that when displaying it in your cabinet!!

Congrats, for the result and the special experience 👍 There were some interesting models here, but in the end I was always reluctant to order them for different reasons (quality, price,...). It may be cheaper to buy a complete set retrospectively from people who have given up.
I hope you can add the seats without big hassle.
About the electronics: Is the engine sound constant, like a running engine idling? Are all the lights are always on?
