OK. Well I decided since I was bogged down in my other builds, Id go ahead and do this one.
Frank Frazetta has always been a favorite of mine. I fell in love with his stuff seeing the covers of Conan paperbacks. Then in 78 the first Molly Hatchet album came out with this as its cover. I bought that album based SOLELY on that cover as it was their first and I hadnt heard them yet. LOL Luckily they were a great band. LOL
There is a Frazetta museum here in Stroudsburg PA, about 3 hours from my house. Im planning on taking this there and taking pics of it there. IF it comes out worth a damn.
OK, so, its a relatively simple build. BUT, as you can see, while the fit is OK, it has serious seems. *sigh* Its gonna require a little more work than I was hoping for.
I am not attaching the arms or head to the rider yet, nor the cloak. Those will be painted then attached to make it easier. The things like reigns are separate pieces that will get painted then all put together.
Next session is getting those seams done.

After way more work on the seams than should have been necessary, initial flat black coat on. I sprayed the head after the pic. Also the base in dark earth as a base for that.

Frazettas Death Dealer is really cool, I have the kit too. But bringing his style into color on a three-dimensional model is not easy.

Thank you Erik. 🙂
Started with some of the easier detail painting. Still working out how to shade the horse.

I have been busy with life and new toys. Got a resin 3D printer, so been messing with that quite a bit. Im gonna do a post on that separate.
I have gotten quite a bit done on this one. Some more detail things to do, the ax, the sword and it will be done. Have some seams I realized I missed to do also. But nothing awful. And do a little more "weathering". So next post will be it completed.

So he is all done. While the details are awesome, and I understand they are bringing a 2D image to a model, the fit should have been better. And it has some design issues, especially the sword. All that being said, it turned out great I think. If you get it, just be aware it takes a bit of work, but worth it.

Very well done. Top painting. Allow me one hint: blood is darkening bloody fast ouside the body, turning brown and almost black. Toning the edges down a bit might add even a bit more of realism.
Cheers Michael

It's a Hasegawa cover, so it's great. You just need to be careful when gluing the top of the hull, where you glue other inserts for the drop cabin or car door. I've added a scan of the instructions.

I bought this through E-Bay, only to find the kit had already been started, and a couple of key pieces were missing. Fortunately, I was refunded, and the seller let me keep the model.
In order to build it, I had to pour a couple of replacement resin pieces; it cost me more for the resin and casting material than I paid for the kit! Still, in the end, it turned out quite well. Because it was much more work, I think I have a soft spot for this one over the yellow/red Labrador

I want to build the yellow canadian CH-113 on day myself. Nice to see those two beauties sude by side. I read that the Hobbycrab kit is a challenge. I'd appreciate a word or two on how the build was.

Welcome back to modelling Kate. Sticking bits of plastic together is very different to when we were all younger and some aspects seem to be a lot more confusing than they used to be. Youtube is a very good place to find tutorials or feel free to ask questions here.

Thanks! I've been watching two channels already, Night Shift and Panzermeister36. I'd welcome any reccomendations for more. 'Specially some that are aircraft-focused, since my next build after the KV will be Border's B5N2 Kate. (I had to pick that one, it's got my name on it. I only started on the KV first because it arrived in the mail a day earlier.)

I don't generally watch any Youtube modelling videos unless there is a particular technique I want to learn so I can't personally recommend any, although I know that Uncle Night Shift is one of the best. Hopefully someone else will be able to recommend something suitable. 🙂

Ever since I was a kid I wanted to have a good model of this elegant plane. I've assembled both NOVO/FROG and Special Hobby. Not the same. The Clear Prop model is a step higher.
P.S. I haven't quite figured out how to link the project to the model yet, sorry.

Finally a good 1/72 plastic model of this aircraft. Looks like Clear Prop did a good job. I'm stuck with the Airfix one and the KP one doesn't seem to be a good representation.
Fantastic result. Very nice model.
Congrats!
I think to link a project to an album you have to create a new project (from projects --> add new project) and then link or create an album to the project

I couldn't connect the project with the model, although I have the model in my stash. And the project with the album too. I'll figure it out.

1) Add it to stash from kits list,
2) Status= Started.
3) Go to Edit...scroll down to link project, Select the desired kit from list.
Should be all good then
Nice build 👍👍 nice shiny red, was this the plane that had X2 engine's inline??

The model from Clear Prop is definitely better than KP and all the others in terms of geometry, detailing and quality.
It is also possible to purchase an engine (DH.88 Engine (Clear Prop! CPA72141, 1:72)) and make an open hood. But this is already an amateur's choice

This looks great! Decals look like painted on.
I really should start sanding down the gloss coat/decals like you did. In your comment you've written that no polishing is necessary. Will you just apply snew gloss coat over top after cleaning it a bit more?

Thanks Robin.
Llivery of this car is matt 😉 the reason for sanding is that removing the step in the decal, even on a matte surface, creates a smoother curved surface.

Really nice build and weathering Jon. Especially the "Ghost" marks for the drop tanks. I'm guessing this is a post war Mossie..?

Although I'm a petrolhead, I've not built many car models before.
My son is a big fan of racing cars in general, and old Japanese cars in particular. He has asked me to build this one for him.

Meanwhile the body has been painted with a Tamiya rattle can.
Some small dust particles have sneaked into the paint, but nothing serious.

I'm impressed, so following to see the finished version. Question to @Jan Peters: "Engine bay painted a dirty yellow". Is this some kind of weathering? I'm pretty new and eager to learn

@yngvenett to answer your question: I started out with a black base, misted yellow over this, so it does not cover the black, and went back over it with yellow applied by brush. I will give it a wash of a dark brown later on.
