I know, but I have the exact same decal set and will use the 1/72 Tamiya kit. I'm interested in decal quality and use of paints and of course your building experience. ☺️

Very good project. I already wrote to you on some FB page about changing the engine nozzle from GE to PW, but you already know that. I will be checking in and watching, because I am currently in the process of Zeus 🙂

There has been a dozen definitive versions of the Tiger 2 for years. This is a bone idle release.
The interior kits by Meng and Takom are about perfect. You are talking out of your headhole

MENG lost much fame on their KT and Panther tanks. They truly provided a full set of interior, with a hull with incorrect dimensions ( too long IMHO) and too "erected" suspension bogeys, make it looks taller. Some modellers complained about poor plastic (especially the dark red release) even turned their cement red.
Despite more than 12,000 sets ordered even before released, it's just a kit with reasonable price.
Look at the link-and-length tracks, would you tell the parts as "tracks" before they are attached to running wheels?
Well, there is a movable individual track and "torsion bar" sets sold separately, price nearly equals a tank.

Perhaps there were some small issues - but there are also some good points. No kit is perfect and some require more work than others. Most modellers like to tinker about to add their own mark and make any corrections found by research. The more experienced you become the less likely 'OOB' builds
As for tracks - don't make me laugh! Most Modellers (not me) spend a fortune on metal tracks and lazy AM stuff.
Ps my apologies for the harsh initial post - no disrespect meant
This kit has been popular, the interior makes the Trumpeter 1/16 one look a joke (which was one of the reasons for the interior set), has a metal barrel and will build into a fine rendition of the real thing
You can look at a few of my attempts at builds - a few cheap kits were just test beds to get my skills up as I spent about 3 decades away
I always scratch were necessary after I read up on the subject. Today there is too much reliance on AM and metal tracks

It's worth the price. But not a nice kit. MENG "referred" 1/16 Trumpeter kit during research.
However the process was a mess.
If we talk too much about MENG that's off the topic.
Back to the kit, they did not intend to release a best kit, they wanted a best sold one.
You can build a full interior KT, that's the fact.
Well, tracks are another story...Too many inaccurate and expensive aftermarket sets from Chinese brands...

I don't mind talking about any brand - if there's time - that's why we're here. I have a few MENG kits in my stash so always like to get different views.
Of course nowadays everything is political - the reviews are mostly biased because many companies send out free kits so you rarely get the truth.
My view is it is just about telling a story - some words are left out or changed but it takes nothing away from the story.
I try to use good references and go from there

RFM has a taste of its own, their kits are such a delight to build with smart engineering and excellent instructions. Let alone the easy-to-assemble workable tracks and working suspension (works way better than Border Model suspension system for example).
Take the T-55 tank for example, it was one of the most covered subjects in the hobby. MiniArt has long line of very detailed versions, also Takom released many T-55s including the unique version (T-55 AMV).
When RFM released their T-55 in 2023 everyone was confused, but when I built it I realized it's totally different experience .. the kit was just perfect and I enjoyed every minute of building it, and I never lost my steam like I did with the tiresome Takom T-55s.
Now I want more T-55s from RFM and want them to make it a mainstream! If they do so I will sell my other kits and build only RFM T-55!
If RFM lives up to their reputation the King Tiger will be no different story, and I would love to build it although I already have the Tamiya and the Hobby Boss King Tigers.
