Well Ryan, that is really looking like a well-used Hellcat! The weathered condition of the sea blue is very realistic with the zinc chromate visible and the lighter faded pieces. It all looks very goed, not overdone. Very tidy build, great job 👍!

I'm starting to get a little nervous about those NOVO/FROG biplanes that are in my stash. If their racks are cast in the same crooked way, then the buildings promise to be "interesting". 🙂

Hey, great result. 👍 I'm allways worried about biplanes, but that's perhaps cause the only Biplane I build so far from a tool that wasn't from th 60s was from Amodel.

I agree with Nicolas and J. 👍 👍 Glad you found a shade of blue that you were happy with - and you have such a nice result (I wish i also had this iconic plane in my showcase...). Oh, and, dear Dmitry, please don't stop building those Frog/Novo kits, I really enjoy your work with them!

Thanks, mates! Yes, I will continue building models from FROG\NOVO kits, as it is great and brings me back to my childhood days in a way.

That weathering looks awesome. What technique did you use? Just oil paints?

Thank you all for your likes.
For me, this time is also an experiment. It's my first time to build a kit like this way.
I'm looking for a quick way to save time while I'm busy at work.
This time I didn't use primer or do pre-shading.
I airbrushed whole fuselage with the main color.
Then refer to photos, hand brushed the darker and lighter colors to create difference.
I think this make the shade effect.
Until this process, only water-based acrylic paint had been used.
In the #13~#15 pictures shown, I have used Mr. Weathering's black to create the panel line.
Yesterday, I covered the plane with mat varnish, I found that the contrast became smaller.
I think I should increase the contrast before the mat varnish in the future.
My weathering process is not over yet.
Oil paints, color pencils, etc. may be used to enhance the effect.

Nice weathering, we can clearly see that you worked closely with photos references. What did you use for the main color ?
