For bigger surprise I have not shown the livre yet. It is a beautiful little Ship's Camel, I'm happy with the result.
And now hit the keys!

Was'n das jetzt? Einfach so fertig? Ohne weitere Details im BB? Das geht doch so nicht... 😄
Aber Hans-Jürgen Haag hat schon recht. 👍

Attractive colouring. I would expect such a brightly coloured machine at an air show rather than in the navy 😄
Well crafted model with very fine and precise details. 👍 Nothing else can be expected with your models. 😉

My goodness. What a stunner!! Your masking of the livery is perfect. And what a gorgeous livery it is. Beautifully done. And the lake backdrop is a nice touch to the photos. Hats off to you, my friend. Your builds are always second to none.

Wow mates - thank you very much to all of you for your great feedback! You are right, that is one of my best in my collection.
After seeing this profile in the datafile (today I added a picture of it), I was excited! Since it was clear from the little parts of common sprues of the new Camel series that a Ship's Camel will come the thought matured to try exactly this machine. So I ordered the kit directly after appearance and constructed the mask set in Inkscape. It was not easy because not all is visible clearly (Please note that the "sun" on the lower side of the upper wing is not in the middle!). The cutting plotter has never worked so hard for a single model 😉
There was the fallback to do one of the kit markings, e.g. the A with blue/white cowling. But I have already a blue/white Camel in the cabinet.
@Ludvik The brightly coloured machine was may be necessary for navy usage! At that time there were no aircraft carrier or catapults. The Camel took off from an improvised wooden platform while the ship was running full steam. Or, in strong winds, the platform, mounted on a large gun, was turned into the wind.
But the landing? That was done on the land, or it was watered next to the ship. Hence the floating bags in the back of the fuselage! So the aircraft was often damaged. The livre helped also if you had to dip into the ocean after an engine fail in the middle of nowhere.
Und Christoph, Entschuldigung! Aber die Gelegenheit einer dicken Überraschung war einfach zu schön, um nicht ergriffen zu werden!

When the gallery looks like a walk-around, it must be one of yours! Superb, and a joy to the eye. The control cable guides on the sides of the fuselage clearly work very well, and a big improvement on the moulded parts. Every tiny details adds greatly to the finished creation.

wow... speachless - this is like something coming right out of a Miyazaki movie... 🙂 The colors and entire "flair" of the plane and build - a true "character"...
The paint-job pretty much steals the show - but if you keep looking all the (usual 😉 ) details pop-up... just wow - I can´t even imagine how good this must look in real life... a joy to behold I am sure...
Just a wonderful build, point. Sincere congratulations! 👍

True masterpiece, I've just spent the best part of an hour admiring the details from the bracing wire turnbuckles to the paintwork, and the photography? As others have said , just brings the whole thing to life. Thank you so much for sharing your work, it always brings so much pleasure

When I came back from my summer holiday, I found your wonderful comments.❤️️ Thank you very much to all of you!
@Dietmar Yes, all the masking and painting was quite a job, but I fell in love with this livre when I flipped through the Windsock for the first time 😉
@Roland No chance to win with this masterpiece in Ried, because as far as I know there is no contest this year. But I hope you have a chance to see it there with your own eyes!
@David That is also a wonderful comment, but I think to see all the details you should not miss the build report.

A flaw? That is a little mistake or error, a not perfect detail.
Because there is no perfect model, it too has its imperfections. I know them, but I will not mention them! 🙂
A perfect model only exists in our imagination inside the box. As soon as the box is opened, it is gone because of the first scratches and so on.

I just hope that in the next IOS update of my imagination I get this improvement...

@Doubtingmango You pointed me to Eduard Facebook page. Unfortunately Eduard wrote that I had used third party decals (that this is painted was probably beyond imagination). I wrote to them, but nobody corrected it.
And now some people are looking for these decals, see sharings 🙁
I can't clear up the mistake because I am not a Facebook user. So could you (or someone else with an account?) post a comment for clarification that the model was masked and painted and there exists no decals? The article was posted on August 20th. Thank you very much!

But of course it's also good advertising for this new kit. I have never built a new kit (which came out in June) so quickly, usually new kits end up in my large stash and are not built for years 👀

The Ship's Camel was awarded a silver medal in the Master class in the "Aircraft 1:48" category at the Euro Model Expo 2024 👍
This was the best of my three awards.
As expected, I would have had no chance with the Swallow due to the high level of entered models (as discussed last week).

Album info
My Ship's Camel is finished! The machine is the serial N6818. This marking is not part of the Eduard Profipack so I completely masked and airbrushed it. Only some small stencils are decals from the kit.
The N6818 was based at Turnhouse 1918 and was flown by Major WG Moore. It is shown in a beautiful color profile (upside, bottom and side view, painted by Ronny Bar) in the Windsock Datafile 170.
Since my usual photo spot is blocked by maize plants at the moment, I took the photos at a lake to have real water in the background of the wooden base. It was an alternately sunny and cloudy day today, only the wind was strong and gusty, so I had to watch the model. Fortunately, the Camel turned out to be quite heavy.
