'64 Plymouth Belvedere 2Door Hardtop Stockcar with lowering and steering.

Since I've already built the Lawman Plymouth Belvedere, it makes sense that I'll also build a Plymouth Belvedere stock car with a V8 425cu engine. I bought the AMT1188 kit on Ebay. The parts for the Belvedere in the kit box had all been flawlessly cast in plastic. I didn't find any streaks on the clear parts. Chrome parts were also perfectly cast and electroplated. The assembly instructions are written in English. Due to the exploded views and the symbols, however, it can also be read by people who do not speak English.

Assembly instructions:

First I glued the motor 1a/2a together except for the chrome parts 'C'. The engine was then primed and painted in Chrysler's well-known orange engine color. The gearbox received an aluminum paint finish. On part 83 I put the decal 425 cu. I replaced part 65 (ignition distributor) with a larger cylindrical part that has a larger diameter in order to be able to pull 8 ignition cables out of this part. The ignition cables have been inserted into part 86, which was previously prepared with a 0.5 mm drill. This gives me a little more realism. My wheels broke off on a first Belvedere from AMT. So I opened another project to give the vehicle more functionality and stability. First I replaced the steering system (parts 45, 47, 55) with brass parts that I designed myself. I also replaced parts 52,48,49,50,51 with self-designed brass parts. See pictures. This gave the vehicle an axle with leaf springs and steering. The wheels roll around the axle and do not break off. Then I painted the interior parts, the body, the engine parts and the chassis with Tamiya primer. I painted the body, hood and tail section 5 with Tamiya Red TS-49. The chassis with the brass parts in matt black (Tamiya X-18). With Barfoil I chromed the window frames, the body and the wheel arches. After I painted the interior of the body part white with a brush, I brushed the body, hood, part 5 with Glossy. In order to be able to attach the side mirrors and the antenna, I first drilled a D1mm hole. Inside, I roughened up the carpet. Painted this with red matt. The cockpit and seats (parts 24, 23, 22) were also given a red and white matt finish based on an original model. Then I put the windows in. I glued the interior to the body with a few dots of glue. Attach front panel. Put the wheels on the axle wire and glue them in such a way that they turn. put on the hood. Glue the rear section to the body according to the assembly instructions. I didn't use the outside decals.
