Porsche 917k Le Mans winner 1970.
This year I was at the circuit de la sarthe in le mans for the 24 hour race. When I saw the Porsche 917k in the le mans museum, I knew I had to build it myself in 1/24 scale 🙂
Dirty work with putty
Gaps are fullfilled with great Polyester Putty which does not shrink.
Kit is ready to priming. I will use Mr. Primer Surfacer 1000.
First primer, 1000 from Mr Hobby, now correction the imperfections and second coat of primer white or pink I must do a spoon test to pick a correct one.
Ready to airbrush! I will use Red Madder(C68)from Mr Hobby
Primed & Wet sanded
Before sanding
Work is moving forward.
Very stresful part of the painting.
Decals are very hard to put on the body. Hasn't finished yet of course.
I will remove shitty chrome and replace it with new one.
Priming.
Custom screws are ready to be painted. Black base -> flat aluminum silver
Some parts are almost ready. Instead of alclad Chrome I used Super Metallics Fine Silver thinned at a ratio of 1:14
decals have already done, hardest part of the work is behind me.
I added some panel liner with a new tool from Gaianotes
Masking tape broke off the water decals...One element corrected(air intakes painted white) but the water decals in one place were broken off by the masking tape despite the fact that the decals were protected by clearcoat...Fortunately, I am able to mask it and paint it white.
Tomorrow clear coating and one weak later sanding and polishing.
Dashbord is flocked, the real one is below.
Sanding & polishing left.
Below is screenshot from GT7
Assembling stage
Instead of painting I made a custom rivets.
Finished. My best build ever.

What does that new tool from Gaianotes do? It looks interesting and I am always looking for an easier way to do panel lines.

More precise than cotton swabs, but it gets dirty quickly and a little too few changeable tips.

You can put your pictures in a more chronological order, simply by going to the album, and click on " manage"
As you slowly scroll down, you'll see the advanced button, on the right?
Click that, and it will reveal your picture gallery?
You'll see arrows above and below each picture. By clicking those, you can move the picture up or below, where it currently is.
I hope this helps you, my friend?
Awesome work, I love the red colour.

Turned out very nice well done, the tyre decals on my model the letters were seperate, I real pain. How did you find attaching the two body halves together ?
