Bell P-39 Q Airacobra in Italian service
On the left, the original interiors
The originals after adding some old PE from Eduard
Zooming on the internals: the PEs adds some details.
Ps I took inspiration from a very popular and new tool applying three metal balls 🙂 The instructions report to add "8 grams"

I removed the right access door. The Falcon aftermarket provides both of them as an interesting option
It's a very simple model and the assembly is very straightforward. Plastic are very thin!
Some plasticard is needed... Otherwise you will see some "holes" 🙂
Starting to seem a plane. I'm working on the Falcon aftermarkets, I'll will have to work a bit on the door.
Starting painting...
Pretty happy about the pre-shading.
Starting working on details. Propeller, radio compartment, etc.
The decals seems very good, and they have a super documentation based on my same reference. Well done 🙂
But...I cannot understand why there are serial numbers only for the third plane

"What's up, Doc?” "Che succede, amico?" 🙂
Two options for the propeller 😉

Well done so far, Moreno. Making these old kits has a lot of merit but you can still get a good result 🙂

... Today I saw this:
Italian Cobras #2 (Exotic Decals ED72017, 1:72)
...And I'm really tempted to change the project in favour of Bugs Bunny (second plane in the picture) 🙂
I discovered this profile more than ten ten years ago, and finally someone produced decals with that insignia! (Used by lieutenant Eugenio Salvi in Galatina in 1945)

I have decided, I will change the project towards the Italian model.
As I wrote above, I've known about that profile for more than ten years, and I can't wait to try the new decals.
I will update the project album with some images of the sources, which the Polish producers of the decals followed. Stay tuned 🙂

Following. It's always good to see the kits of old days done in this era of over the top model kits.

Many thanks mates!
@Cuajete: thank you, yes, Bugs Bunny is really interesting, also the "tuffatrice" Pin up is very particular
@Patryk: I totally agree with you, I'm really enjoying the kit, and I'm taking some inspiration from the last over the top models 🙂

Well, I did an error like a novice. I applied the four blades propeller in the first steps, following the instructions for the french plane, and I just realised that the Italian planes had a three blades propeller... I'll have to do a little modification 🙂

I worked on the landing gear and adjusted the clearance for the right access door, using a Dremel type tool. Pics will follow!

Thank you mate. They are a bit "heavy", but I'll correct them in the next stages

Thanks mate! I have already applied the transparents and some final small parts. I need only to find time in these dense weeks to work on the walkways, antenna wire and co.
