And so it begins
![Album image #2 Album image #2](/albums/img/9/9/7/1734997-53108-70-720.jpg)
AirWaves resin wing with slats / flaps extended (left) vs. the boring kit wing (right).
![Album image #3 Album image #3](/albums/img/9/9/8/1734998-53108-45-720.jpg)
The resin wings needed a good bit of trimming and cleaning-up. Left wing is nearly finished.
![Album image #4 Album image #4](/albums/img/0/0/1/1735001-53108-24-720.jpg)
I slotted the wing pivot point holes to give me the ability to install the wings later during final assembly.
![Album image #5 Album image #5](/albums/img/0/0/2/1735002-53108-97-720.jpg)
Perfect fit.
![Album image #6 Album image #6](/albums/img/0/0/0/1735000-53108-60-720.jpg)
Next, the wing glove seal areas needed to be closed in. I will scribe ribbed detail on these later. I also added sheet styrene shims so that the wings will not droop when installed.
![Album image #7 Album image #7](/albums/img/0/0/3/1735003-53108-99-720.jpg)
The canopy had a gap at the trailing edge, so I shimmed it with.010” styrene sheet.
![Album image #8 Album image #8](/albums/img/0/0/4/1735004-53108-80-720.jpg)
Looking good so far…
![Album image #9 Album image #9](/albums/img/0/0/5/1735005-53108-76-720.jpg)
Another amazing product from ResKit! These engine nozzles and thrust reversers will really make this model pop!
![Album image #10 Album image #10](/albums/img/0/0/6/1735006-53108-67-720.jpg)
The pour stubs were all removed with my Olfa knife saw blade attachment.
![Album image #11 Album image #11](/albums/img/0/0/7/1735007-53108-29-720.jpg)
It took a lot of trimming, fitting, repeating to get the nozzles to a perfect gap-free fit. These will be attached with white glue during final assembly.
![Album image #12 Album image #12](/albums/img/0/0/8/1735008-53108-78-720.jpg)
I bought these decals on eBay. They are low-quality TRASH, just like the F-15E set I bought for the other Desert Storm model I’m currently building. I’ll end up using a few of them but most of my Saudi markings will come from another decal sheet.
![Album image #13 Album image #13](/albums/img/0/0/9/1735009-53108-27-720.jpg)
I’m using a bit of this material for the lenses of the LRMTS pod.
![Album image #14 Album image #14](/albums/img/0/1/0/1735010-53108-61-720.jpg)
I installed two pieces of the iridescent film with white glue. I will mask off the sensor windows, and once the fairing is painted, the film will give off a nice effect.

Self-adhesive Lead foil tape was embossed with a “quilted” pattern by rolling the knurled ferrule of an X-Acto knife handle over the foil. I used this to add cockpit insulation for a little more detail. I also glued in some smashed Lead fishing weights with Sprue Goo.
![Album image #16 Album image #16](/albums/img/0/1/8/1735018-53108-59-720.jpg)
It’s subtle, but every little bit of detail helps
![Album image #17 Album image #17](/albums/img/0/1/2/1735012-53108-22-720.jpg)
Styrene rod was used to enlarge the horizontal stabilator “horns”. The original design had tiny attachment pins which never seem to work out right.
![Album image #18 Album image #18](/albums/img/0/1/3/1735013-53108-61-720.jpg)
Much better and stronger!

. The AirWaves UK resin wings had no pylon attachment points. I drilled the attachment point holes all the way through the kit wings.
![Album image #20 Album image #20](/albums/img/0/1/4/1735014-53108-37-720.jpg)
I then laid the kit wings on top of the resin wings to “transfer” the holes by drilling through the kit wings into the resin wings underneath.
![Album image #21 Album image #21](/albums/img/0/1/6/1735016-53108-88-720.jpg)
Transferred holes were deepened to allow the pylons to attach
![Album image #22 Album image #22](/albums/img/0/1/7/1735017-53108-69-720.jpg)
A homemade jig is used to hold the aircraft while the super glue holding the outboard pylons cures.
![Album image #23 Album image #23](/albums/img/0/8/8/1754088-53108-68-720.jpg)
More details added to both main landing gear bays
![Album image #24 Album image #24](/albums/img/0/9/0/1754090-53108-23-720.jpg)
Bare metal gun fairings and other areas sprayed with Metallizer and masked
![Album image #25 Album image #25](/albums/img/0/9/1/1754091-53108-55-720.jpg)
.005” plastic card glued on to make a frame hoop between canopy and windscreen
![Album image #26 Album image #26](/albums/img/0/9/2/1754092-53108-19-720.jpg)
Everything glued together with added frame hoop detail
![Album image #27 Album image #27](/albums/img/0/9/3/1754093-53108-90-720.jpg)
Much clearer dipped in Future
![Album image #28 Album image #28](/albums/img/0/8/7/1754087-53108-17-720.jpg)
Canopy and windscreen (joined) and masked for paint

Great project ! Attention using these resin wings...they probably 'go down' one day like on mine.
