Thank you all! Very kind. I use the tartan technique also for maps, flags and so on.

Very nice overall, but the neatly painted tartan is the high-light for me. Can you elaborate on how you did this, please?

@ Bruce - Cf. the instructions of Miniart 35165 "British Officers", here on Scalemates. On the backside of the packaging there is a piece of tartan as an template. I have cut it out and soaked it in lukewarn water. After a few minutes I have rubbed the wet cardstock away from the backside carefully. So I have got a thin printed foil with the tartan on it. I have glued the foil with white glue on the front of the figure (not water soluble!) and used a clothespin to get the round form. After drying: Matt varnish took away the shine. The backside of the kilt is only blue and green colour - nobody will see.
One problem: the cutting edges will appear white, so you have to colour them with a blue or green pencil.
I hope this description is helpful. Greatings TT

Album info
A fictitious scene - an oasis in the Libyan Desert - it brings together some of my favorite vehicles: the Chevy and two rebuilt jeeps. Also two famous units: LRDG and SAS. The oasis is the base of the operation.
