Well Thomas this is a nice example of high level model making. You cut out the maskings for the markings for you own or are these aftermarket masks?

Hi Christian I used Montex masks except for the fin flash which was masked with Tamiya tape. I was really impressed how well the masks worked.

Very nice Spit,Thomas. Detailed cockpit. I like the chipping on the wing. 👍

I thank you all! There were a lot of great looking Spitfires built this year - they all inspired me very much for mine.

slowly getting to the end. Somehow I find it easier to use the photos to check where a touch up is required.
Some last improvements planned for today, after that I will let it dry for a week and then add some panel wash with oil.

I am glad (and proud) that you like it! I have finished the panel highlighting now.
Posted some pictures for comparison - amazing how much you can blow up a single picture (should have removed the dust before)
Rob: no need to wait - this is a simple and straightforward kit, I put all the effort into the paintjob 🙂

Finally finished! As last thing I added the prolonged rear view mirror which is well documented on Zumbachs Spitfire.
My favourite is the orange coloured belly light - amazing what you can find and learn on the internet.

Thank you all!
I can highly recommend this kit as it is a straightforward build. It can no longer compete in detail with the latest Eduard releases, especially in the cockpit area but finished it looks 100% Spitfire to me.
By the way: I have not used up the Techmod Decalsheet leaving at least one complete set of markings for a Zumbach Spitfire plus a set for JH*M of 317th Squadron. Only missing items are the stencils. Anyone interested can contact me.

Album info
I got this kit for almost nothing at an exhibition with the intention to use only the control stick for another project. But I think it is a pity to throw away this beautiful kit so I bought the Techmod decals to build it into Jan Zumbach's Spitfire.
