![Album image #2 Album image #2](/albums/img/2/5/2/274252-22187-78-720.jpg)
Alcladded in aircraft aluminium, portholes drilled by hand (I'm not using decals, sorry kit designer!)

Nostalgic family moment...

Nostalgic family moment...
![Album image #5 Album image #5](/albums/img/5/9/8/274598-22187-34-720.jpg)
Fuselage sealed up, engines fitted some filler required...)
![Album image #6 Album image #6](/albums/img/1/4/8/275148-22187-31-720.jpg)
All done - metal discoloured from engine heat...
![Album image #7 Album image #7](/albums/img/1/4/9/275149-22187-70-720.jpg)
Clam shell cargo doors open, peekaboo to the internal vignette 30 years ago in Southend with the Haines family.
![Album image #8 Album image #8](/albums/img/1/5/0/275150-22187-53-720.jpg)
Drilled the windows rather than decals. Homemade airframe number aft.

OK, it's a bit fictional: XB261 was only ever RAE, but I wanted Transport Command as main theme.

XB261 really did have a maple leaf (for being the only Beverley to cross the Atlantic). The name is my conceit though - named it after my mother for getting stuck up that ladder!
