1:8 Pocher Rolls Royce Phantom II
The starting carburetor was missing, I made it using some pipes.
all the oil lines were missing, I made them using copper wire and nuts
There was only a hole in the spark plug to put the wire, so I made the connection using a brass tube, nut and bolt
The leaf springs
Rear axle
Rear brakes
Front brakes
Front axle
The tie rod and the shackle in the kit are in this way
So, I decided to modify them
it's time to assembly the chassis...
The brakes levers
the gear box
transmission shaft and differential box
output of gear box
The exhaust system. Heat protection.
The support of the final tube as in the box
and the new one
wheel composition
The hub composition
I restart with the dashboard
I don't like the instruments included in the kit
so I made them using AutoCAD
The supports for the dashboard
The connection to power box
the firewall
the support of the pump
the final result of pump
The cap of the grease pump for the chassis
the two pumps
fuel supply switch
a first test for the body
the connection for the gear lever
the speedometer cable
and the accelerator cable, pedal connection
the side steering tube, before...
and after
steering arm
the controls on instruments panel
the connections of dashboard
the firewall with the pipes connected to the pumps
the silencer from the exhaust heated inlet pipe
the magneto control linkage
the magneto control linkage in place
On the steering wheel there are three controls: ignition, governor and carburator. Instead of use the the words write on the plastic I prefer to print them and glue on the plate. I made them by AutoCAD, te leteers are 0,9 and 0,7 mm.
This is only a test, I have to use a laser print to have a good detail (my printer is a cheap inkjet).
It' time to work on the radiator
Drill for the new nuts and bolts
this is the motor side
the flying lady is in her place
HELP! How can I rotate the image?
The three plates for radiator and bumpers. The two R are red not black, because the carburetor on the model is of the type produced until January 1932.
The old clamps...
And the new.
I modified also the clamps on the exhaust
The grid of gear box
Sometimes I come back to my work... I started with the seats, using leather to cover them.
The color of the body will change, I think to paint the car in metallic light blue.
This is my inspiration, is one of the first car in metallic color.

I am losing track how much of this is the kit and how much Maurizio's craftsmanship. Either way truly mindblowing!! I am going to be disappointed if this thing does not start up in the end😄

Thanks! I don't know when I'll finish, I work there occasionally, and I have to resist not starting another kit before I finish this! 🙂

Maurizio, wheels are looking fantastic and look like fun to build. If I ever get to Italy I will buy you a coffee so you will tell me all your secrets!

Beer eh? Hmmm, that might be possible! Anyone else interested in sitting in the afternoon sun at Maurizio's place if I bring the beer? Italy should be very pleasant this time of year!

Yes, welcome back! What a change since we chatted last on this thread, and I don't mean just your progress on the build...

Alec you are right, the world is changed. Luckily we have our hobby. Peter, we have to wait for the beer! Alexander, have you buy a F40 Pocher? Me too have it, is red but I think to make it yellow, when I'll start to assemble it... Ciao Chris, I'm happy to meet you again

Yeah, have the F40 in my stash but I believe these newer Pocher kits are toys in comparison to the madness like your RR 😄
Built the Aventador though, was quite nice actually but also nowhere near the detail amount like the older kits

Alexander, yes, the Pocher "Prestige" series made as in the box are like die cast model, but adding details and right paint it's possible to achieve a good result. I think it's not a problem for you, your Countach is fantastic!

The Mossie is just a careful OOB build, nothing on the level of this Roller. But thanks.

Massive and very nice detailling on your part. Please allow me a comment on one detail. Pic 239: one of your beautifully fashioned clamps seems to be on the rubber hose only, but not on the metal part the hose is slid over. On this position it will not serve its function.
Keep up the great work and us pisted.
