I started this triple-build a few days ago; construction seems not over-complicated and rather straight ahead. The first three picture depict the interior of a Tunnan I would like to build as a weathered "Gate Guard".... therefore it should look rather rotten 🙂 I tried to improvise some loose cables and wiring, some of the instruments in the dashboard have been drilled out.
All three models will depict Tunnans in Austrian service.

I am completely enthusiastic about these model kits! Accuracy of fit, joy in the meaningful detail and a quick assembly are "built in" here. I prefer not to save on bow-weights, because the construction of the Tunnan pre-programmes a tail-sitter. The wings are already finished, so soon the Tunnan will be recognizable.

Seeing that chipped cockpit without reading your comment, I thought you were building the one sitting in Ramsau am Dachstein. I have fond childhood memories from climbing over and through that one.

That is nice! I will present her on a pylon, all around I have planned a small diorama; working title: "sic transit gloria mundi" 🙂

Thank you both mates!
The kit is of first quality! The unconventional but well thought out parts construction allows a quick building- and the accuracy of fit is almost incredible and belongs to the finest I have ever seen. The fidelity of form to the original seems to me to be well met, the surface shape, i.e. rivets, sheet metal joints, flaps etc., is very delicate and convincingly reproduced.
If I somehow have the opportunity to get my hands on the Pilots Replica J21 or - even better - the Saab 105, I will be very very happy 🙂

nice to see a descent kit of this one... the Tarangus one is more like a putty monster.
Models are looking good too by the way 😉

Nice to read that! We all need a decent kit once in a while between all those putty queens out there. 🙂

Thank you Clifford! Getting in shape more, the "flying barrel" begins to represent its nickname very well 🙂

Thanks for your comments and encouragement! Indeed, Erik, get one of these kits- they are pretty well made and a nice little change to the usual.

A few new pictures of the first two "Tunnans" nearing completion: the surfaces have been prepared for the decals, for the "day glow" wingtips of one of the two Vallejo acrylics have been used

Cameras have a hard time picking up any dayglo paint, is it brighter in real life???

Gordon and Patrick, thank you for your kind remarks! You are perfectly right: the applicated dayglo does look darker than I had expected. I did build up this colour with several layers, but even on the shiny alu surface it seems to be a little bit too dark to me. At all, I am not too unhappy with the actual outcome, even being rather dark it´s ok for me.
