MCMV build progress
The base has been prepared first using acrylic caulking, then white wall paint, and green and blue acrylic modeling paint
After fitting the hull into the base, it was masked and painted.
Some motivational fitting and checking of the base did take place.
The cranes needed supports after gluing.
This kit contains a number of white metal parts, I found working the material quite manageable.
There are decals for the bridge windows included in the kit, but I overlooked them and made my own masks. Duh.
I used wire strenghtening for the lower yardarms.
All the railing sections were pre-bent, test-fitted and then mounted for painting.
After removing the bridge window masks.
The base has received several coats of clear gloss.
The numerous equipment parts on the well deck need to be mounted prior to adding the next deck level. I should have painted the Oropesas differently, but they looked so nice in DayGlo Orange ...
The vessel is built, rigged, decaled and flat-coated - ready to be mounted on its base.
And from port ...
