The wrapped speed build kits. For this event, no one knew what each individual kit was and picking depended on the order each contestant paid their $5.00 fee. The kits were a mix of MK666 and Hasegawa 1/72 aircraft.

Dave was trying to figure out the next step, while Alan proudly displayed his $5.00 speed build kit which he decided not to build. This F4U-1D Corsair kit was on his "must-build" list, so he opted to take it home and do it up right.
