F-102A 525th FIS - Bitburg Airbase
a very boring out of box start...
the assembled cockpit
I don't like the position and formation lights in the kit ...
...I drilled them out ...
...to get a hole that can be filled with Bondic.
the paint has arrived...
the engravings were renewed with the razor saw
after the primer, the first step was to paint the yellow window frames.
the masking for the colorful stripes. The orange tape is just for the right distance.
a thin layer in white...
..and the result
the tips and wing fences are painted in very nice looking dayglow-orange
masking the fin...
..and the result.
I filled the lights with the Revell UV-glue and painted it with Tamiya clear colors.

@Maciej: welcome - have fun!
@Bernhard: you are welcome, too. Yes, I´ll use the most of the decals from the kit. Iill use custom decals for the special decals. I will paint the colored stripes.

there are some new photos in the album. The correct paint has been arrived, but I´m still waiting for the paintmasks. This is the nicest kit I´ve ever built. Every part fits. I renewed the engravings on the glue seam with the razor saw and attached the clear parts with future .

I had a bad weekend with the Dagger. After the first clearcoat, I realized that the engraved lines in the wings were not sharp enough to hold the washing. I tried to improve the lines, but the acrylic paint was ugly on the edges. So I removed the paint on the wings completely. I did the paintjob a second time. The result on the edges to the fuselage is not very good. Now the most of the work is done, I only have to do some detailwork.

Speedy-Build & top result! I like especially the colorful scheme: the 5 stripes on the fuselage look very clean and sharp. Top photography and inszenesetzing🙂

Might have killed the fun building it, but not the pleasure looking at it 👍
