I was vaguely looking at the images and I thought 'Oh it looks like a Neuling diorama'.

Wow... on the first glance, why did he post real pics? Congratulation to this perfect rollout.

Another absolutely beautiful build Neuling. Your realism is something to strive for.

Thanks mates, merci, obrigado, danke! I´m glad you like my album. - Spanjaard the camouflage net is a Tamiya product, which basically is a decal, not easy to handle for me. - Jean-Michel, I was inspired for my build by your beautiful album showing the basic version of this impressive truck.

It should be forbidden to portray a scale 1:1 situation as a modelled scene !! 🙂
Really, this is very good, and the phorography adds a lot to the diorama.
I would like to have these skills!

The soldier getting into the truck moved! I'm sure he moved. Well done. The more I look at the photos the more detail I see.

I would love an explanation of how these photo's were taken. I know it starts with a perfect model and that is already hard enough, but I am sure that the photographic art is addign a lot on its own.

Really fantastic work; excellent vignette. @Francky, re: photography: to get the depth of field present here you need to shoot with an aperture of at least f8, more likely f16 or f22. Natural light and a tripod help immensely. Given the lack of distortion I think its unlikely this was shot with a smart phone.

Thank you mates! - Photography: I started taking pictures of my dios 3 years ago, much trial and error there. As Michael wrote: natural light helps a lot. Some bushes and trees of my garden and an open sky give a realistic touch, close up and horizontal camera perspective as well. Enhancing with Photoshop. I use a Sony DSC-WX 500. You can see my camera on picture 21 in my album "Aftermath of Tet".

It's just very cool to follow your work & method... The excellent models and superbly planned dios (not cramped or unnatural, but not a square-cm waster) + the camera work - I guess you put the model at least in 3 different positions (or 3 times of day) due to the different shadow layouts, always making the best out of the given situation. Top job for the X'th time, but keep'em coming, always a feast when I discover one of your photo-series 👍

Thank you mates! - Slavo, indeed I carefully watch day-/sunlight, clouds and shadows when taking pictures, paying more attention to the process of picture taking and processing than many modellers here do who don´t do justice to their top builds due to sloppy photography. - Bob, it´s an honor to me when a veteran considers my scenery "realistic"!

I was only at KFOR. ? Camp Bondsteel and Banski Rid.
By the way I first wanted to ask how much Germans were in Iraq. But then I saw it is a model. Damn this is so realistic. Can I learn from you, Neuling? I am a real Neuling. Back from 30 years of dark ages.
Verdammt gut gemacht! Ich bin beinahe sprachlos.

A masterpiece. No extensive chipping which makes it absurd in reality. The weathering is very tasteful.

Danke Thorsten! - Thank you R K! I agree: sometimes less is more.

Simply a Master Class. Soo much to take in. Its simplicity belies the observation skills needed to make every square inch perfection.

Thank you Jonn and Bruce! - Bruce, indeed I take my time to watch reference object and model closely. That´s why I´m a rather slow modeller.
