These are long-range bombers that Atatürk ordered to be purchased in 1936 against the Mussolini threat. There is much discussion on the internet about the upper fuselage color of this aircraft. Although the sources say ANA506 or FS13537 reddish yellow, many modelers inadvertently painted it a near-red orange due to the name Dupont Deluxe Orange floating around and the color appearing dark due to the contrast in the existing black and white photos. After about a month of research and discussions with my dear master modeler friends Arkut Yüksel and Ufuk Aydıner on this subject and as a result of reliable interviews our modeler brother Süleyman Girit has made, it was revealed that this is a bright automotive (tractor) paint very close to the color of ANA506. I created the color by my own colorist experience. Always being Gunze, I mixed H4 yellow, H329 yellow and H24 orange in a 1:1:1 ratio, and then added a tiny drop of H1 black for dirtiness. However, knowing that black has a tendency to turn the color to a greenish shade, I also added 1-2 tiny drops of H14 orange to compensate for that greenness. The resulting color was really close to ANA506. The paint H14 orange specified in the manual of the kit will give false results, i recommend not to rely on it. After all this adventure, I started making the kit, but I have to say that I was not satisfied at all. As a result of the problems in the joint, the curvature of the tail section, and the need for complete puttying due to the fact that the upper and lower joints are not suitable for the paint pattern, some inevitable deteriorations occurred on the surface. As I fixed these errors problems occured elsewhere, therefore I decided to finish this model as it was. I would like to apply the experience I gained from this by making this kit again in the future. PS: For the oval antenna i had to cannibalize a D-18S kit from PM Model
