152mm 433/1 (r) Atlantik Wall southern France
One of the books that I use as a reference (Atlantikwall Batteries and Bunkers by Rudi Rolf), according to my study it was mostly used in the southern parts of France. Picture I found were from the Chiberta Battery near Biarritz, or from unknown open emplacements most likely allong the bay of Biscay.
Although there were plans to build bunkers for the guns, they were most likely not realised due to the focus on fortifications in the Channel and the progress of the war. This is all hypothetically speaking.
I won't/can't post all photo's but ill add a Refrence list.

The Chiberta Battery, I have cross referenced the background with Googlemaps. I personally think the battery on this photo was closer to modern day Plage Miramar (more back in the dunes of course) than Chiberta.
The book isn't great, but the cover photo shows some camouflage and a hint of the colour. I don't know if this is an official colour photo or coloured in later. But at least it shows camouflage patterns.
The general idea, but the cannon will be turned a notch.
The kit. It is probably older than me, bought second hand for a good price and there of course are parts missing. But I had counted on that, and checked that the vital parts were there. I chose to add a metal barrel, because the resin alternative was rather poor.
First some managing, and deciphering part's.
It makes building and therefore life easier.
Breach, sadly either the block or the hole was to big. So the breach will be closed.
A lot of casting blocks to cut off.
The general idea and testfitting.
Choosing the right size of height, the kit has two options.
Drilling out the barrel was quite tricky, a better workbench would have helped but I succeeded in the end.
The difference is striking.
A piece of foil off of a whiskey or wine bottle for the final detail.
Bridging the gap with putty.
One of the missing pieces made with styrene.
Added metal wire for a better fixing point.
Adding missing details with wire.
Measuring
And fixed.
Same here.
Test fitting the ground ankers
Details on the cradle
Choosing which of the hubcaps look best, the original were missing from the kit.
This is what it became, I had to buy a new disc maker to get the right diameter. But I needed that anyway
Took the hubs off again, placed them on the wrong side :/
Progress is slow but steady

After long delays all building is finished. The gun, cradle and shield are not yet glued and will be separate for painting.
It's all rusty now, I still haven't decided what color it should be.
I can't seem to find any information on the colour scheme of Beute Waffen. Suggestions are most welcome!

The basic colours are on the model, I went for a mix of Tamiya XF 59 desert yellow and XF 3 Yellow. To make it brighter and more sunny... It's at a beach in southern France, it needs a sun tan.
I went for Mig 060 russian green for the comouflage.

Thank you for the interest! I've had a son in the past year, so my time for the hobby is at an all time low. But I'll try to pick up the pase in-between the diaper Changes.

ADV/Azimut resin kit, with some updates and scratchbuilding. Nothing fancy, I tend to get fed up with a kit If there's not enough progress or to much details to add. Just to much stuff to do for me to really get into super detailing.
I have done some research, and came up with nice ideas and places to add detail without spending to much time or money. The RB barrel was a must though.
