Painting the sides 

Small update since last, i got sick in covid and had to order more blue water but i'm better and water has arrived.

Most parts of the second layer have dried up, i will continue to make several layers to kinda try to get a deepth effect.
EDIT: several months laters i ended upp adding probably 100 layers of different mixtures and sometimes i went to much with white layers or did not get enough transparency so had to add even more layers to get the effect i wanted...

Base water mostly dried so here i try to highlight some parts of the sea

Here you can see more clearly how i tried to cover up the black holes i painted 

Started to add some wear and tearing, i was not happy with the black "spots/holes" on the hull i did before so tried to cover them up a bit but still keep them visible 

Details on the conning tower was hand painted

First layer of the acrilliyc water was added i thougth this would neeed maybe 2-5 layers and be quick and easy, ended up taking me probably 50 layers and months of work/wait 

First paint was added as a base coat 

More piano wire was used for the rigging 

Sanding down the puddy on the sides 

Adding some piano wire to the conning tower to act as the metal wires that was there on the real thing 

Adding some puddy to the sides to make it more of a 90 deg bend over the edge 

Everything in place where it should be, probably not 100% accurate but I'm quite happy since its my first "scratch" build. 

Here both sides of the fence is in place as well as some thinner plastic details added to the upper hull

A thinner metal wire was used to make the rope like fence part 

Here i bent some more wire around a screw driver and then solder it on to attatch the ropes 

checking if it will all fit

Here is the some what finished wire fence after soldering and a lot of grinding 

Soldering the hull fence 

Here I'm using some iron wire to solder the fence, trying to replicate it as much as i can. 

Some minor errors was done but trying to align the deckgun and all hatches properly 

Screws to securely screw the conning tower in place 

Adding some height to the hull by adding side plates and foam in the middle 

Plastic cutout of the upper hull 

Making space for the sub, this was probable not the best approach since i need to cut away a lot of material 

Cutting out the base shapes 

Marking up the wave pattern on the foam boards 

Printed the wave patterns from a 90 deg angle of every side from the 3D mocup 

3D Mockup i did, submarine model i found online just so i could make the waves how i wanted to have it and preview it
