This is a kit I started in October of 2019. Being released in 2012 and molded from the original Monogram tooling of 1976, there was a considerable amount of flash on just about all the parts. Still, once cleaned up, there is some great detail provided in the cockpit, gun bay and gear doors.
I originally sprayed the model using AK Xtreme Metals over Mr. Finishing Surfacer 1500 Black. It looked great, but when I went to add different shaded panels to the model, the Tamiya tape left adhesive residue after removing it. I used Goo Gone to remove the residue, but it also removed some of the metal paint. I'm currently in the process of re-spraying the model with Mr. Hobby Super Metallics 2, which are a much more robust paint and I'm not having the issues I did with the AK Xtreme Metals.
