Pz.Beob.Wg. II Ausf. F
One of Pz.Beob.Wg. II’s from Panzer-Artillery troop in eastern front. Only national insignia was painted on the turret, while no divisional insignia could be found on vehicle's surface. An early production Hummel was also appeared on this reference photo not far from the Pz.Beob.Wg. II.
The antenna of Pz.Beob.Wg. II could be easily identified and a large storage box was placed under the antenna on the rear upper structure (this box was not included in Dragon 6812).
This Pz.Beob.Wg. II was modified from a Pz. II Ausf. C but not Ausf. F.

The complete view of previous photo. Both of Hummel vehicles were classified as early version, but note the drive sprockets of them were different.
We could also see two spare road wheels placed on the right fender of Pz.Beob.Wg II. Unfortunately, I did not find any reference show a Pz.Beob.Wg II was modified from Pz. II Ausf. F, maybe the Pz. II Beob.Wg (F modification) did not exist in reality.

Due to my current budget restriction, I use the rubber track from old Tamiya kit instead of choosing the workable tracks of Bronco.
The rubber track of Tamiya could fit Academy’s Pz. II perfectly. The problem is that Tamiya’s track has no detail at all, but at least more durable than Dragon’s DS track, the latter one will crack into pieces in couple of months.
The renovation was almost completed, still need to paint the exhausted pipe and do some weatherings.
Revision work was completed.
Hide and seek, searching and positioning?

Album info
This is a renovation project of Pz. II. The basic structure is from Academy 13535 and some details & antenna are components from Dragon 6812.
According to reference, a few of Pz. II Ausf. C have been modified to Pz. Beob. Wg. II and equipped by artillery troops. Not sure if there is any Pz. II Ausf. F has been revised to Pz. Beob. Wg II in reality, so this project is fully based on my imagination.
