Really nice work! I have the Moscow Air Defence set that includes the MiG-3. Haven't started yet but I'm impressed with the ICM kit. Lots of detail (and fiddly parts). Following this one for sure. 👍

Thanks guys!
@John, watch the fit of those tanks at the front of the cowling. They'll effect the fit of the top cowl panel. Fiddly parts indeed!

Thanks for the info Carlos. I have heard for these ICM I kits that you can have the engine installed, or the cowling fit, pick one.

@John. The engine or cowling is certainly the case with the ICM Spitfire. I'm going to test fit the cowl guns to decide if I can install those of not. I hate not to use such parts, and it is such a lovely engine.

Thanks John. I'm not going with the box top scheme, but want to do this as one of Alexander Pokryshkin's mounts from 1942.

Ouch on the gloss. After some similar mishaps, I just give Tamiya my money and stick with X-22.

John, I'm leaning in staying with that route. I had used Micro Gloss back in the 90's with no problems, and wonder if they have changed their formula since then. My only worry with Tamiya Gloss is availability at the local shops tends to be very hit and miss with no reliable word on restocks when it's a miss.

I hear you. I just grabbed a few bottles last time they had it. I run it about 70/30 thinner/gloss and do several coats so it lasts a while. Check out my paint handling tools album and see how I go through less paint. 👍

Great progress so far. It's a shame about the micro gloss but good recovery. Looking forward to the decals.

@steve, I used Gunze aqueous FS 34102 for the topside green.
@ Villiers & Robert, thank you. I'm happy to get this one finished.
