Fokker D.VII F Laumann Jasta 10
Instead of using the PE offered with the kit, I opted to modify from scratch the two fuselage sides from sprue G
I've resumed working on this project after the 109Fs pause...
time for decaling!!!
time for decaling!!!
I forgot to take more photos during the other part of the building process, but there was nothing different from my previous Fokker: Aviattic decals sheet 72033 for wings, aileron, and most of the fuselage, I had to use sheet 72002 for the starboard side because the orientation of the lozenge was different.
A photo in the magnificent book by Herr Schmaling "Jasta colors" clearly show it.

At this point I have finished detailing with some black and dark brown oil colors; some fuselage staining were done before decaling, taking advantage of the clear decals.
Now I will wait for them to dry completely and start with pigment and oil pastels.
Some details of the cockpit and the beautiful Gaspatch Spandau 8/15
Undercarriage axle with some oil staining.
If you look closely you will notice how I fix the Uschi elastic thread: I score a line on top of the struts then pull the thread, previously fixed in a 0,2 mm. at the base, on it.
I found that it is possible to glue the elastic thread (on plastic) with Tamiya Extrathin cement: much better than CA and it grip in seconds! Then I secure the joint with Ammo Ultraglue, to be sure that next gluing will not free it

Tamiya Weathering pigments on, subtle differences but worth the time
Even more subtle than the pigment, the job done with oil pastels is really difficult to catch with a mobile phone camera but I hope you will trust me when I say that it really gives volume and definition to the engine and cockpit area
Finished! Better photos in the next days!
Today I found some spare time to take some photos outside in the garden, hope you will like them!
