Tamiya F4F Wildcat - Summer of the US Navy Group build

This model reminded me of how much I don't like Tamiya's decals. This one quickly turned into a catastrophe, so I deceived to paint the stripes on the tail instead.

Thank you guys! I'm really happy with my paint. I managed to leave just enough of the pre-shading trough my paint coat. Next step will be the decals.

Ouff, the Tamiya's decals gave a lot of trouble. They broke and started to peel up once I applied the clear coat. I will have to do few touch on the insignia with my paintbrush.

Thanks for the moral support Guy. I have managed to find a good mix of Tamiya blue that match the blue of the insignia. I shouldn't show too much once the final clear is applied

And it's finished. Quite happy with result. Now to find a F6 Hellcat 😛
