Hello, I am currently building the Tu 22m3 1/72 from Trumpeter and I have noticed that some of the colors in the instructions are completely wrong. Can you please help me and tell me which Mr Hobby colors I can use for the landing gear boxes (both front and the two rear ones), but also which colors I can use for the Kh 15 rockets and for the rocket cabin.
Thank you very much!

Thank you very much for your answer! The instructions say that I should use Mr Hobby H 311 for the undercarriage, but that doesn't fit the original at all. I have the H 307 here, do you think it fits better?

Difficult. As you can see in the pictures in the links, the color tone in the photos differs from that of a machine. And again between two different aircraft.
Although in the pictures it looks as if the undercarriage has a darker color than the undercarriage well.
Since I don't know how correctly my monitor displays colors (probably poorly) and it is very unlikely that the color representation of available colors on the Internet is accurate, a comparison with color (in hand) and photos of the aircraft will probably be best ( that's what I do).

Mr D
Hobbyboss boss are Renowned for incorrect colours also they miss areas n parts complety.
Don't get me wrong Airfix and Revell sometimes do this on there 1:72 starter kits probably to save people buying more paints.
I find it's always best to get online and do your own research for correct colours, check a few different photos as photo tones may vary.
YouTube videos can help sometimes the builder may name or list colours in vid.
I purchased a Velejo basic colours big-box, l can usually mix most colours out of this set, l will mix tiny amounts to work out correct colour by eye..... when l have it right l make more and bottle n label it up, always worth getting some empty paint bottles to keep your mixed products in.
Nice project the Tu-22 😃👍

Thank you for your message. I would use Vallejo Model Air: 71276 USAF
Light Grey (FS1736495) 17ml for the cabins for the udercarriage
. I am trying to use the exact same colors for landing gear and cabin as in this model: imodeler.com/groups/..-of-tupolev-tu-22m3/ . You have to scroll a bit to find the pictures for the landing gear and cabin there. What would you say would Vallejo light Grey fit for the cabins? Or what colors would you say he has for the landing gears and cabin on his model?
